The Director of Special Education provides strategic leadership and oversight for all Special Education programs and services at the school. This role ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations, leads high-quality instructional practices for students with disabilities, manages Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and fosters collaboration with families and staff to promote equitable outcomes. The Director of SPED serves as the instructional leader for Special Education and works to create inclusive systems that meet the diverse needs of students.
Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
Valid Administrative Services Credential (or equivalent, depending on state).
Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in Special Education, including teaching and leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, ADA, and state regulations.
Proven ability to build and lead effective teams. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
