Salary Details:

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Starting Salary: $50,000 (Certified Teachers; may bring in up to 8 years’ experience). $2,500 Sign-On Bonus for all certified teachers who successfully complete their probationary period. 100% FEHB Single Coverage Paid by CHS (Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance). 5% of contract amount paid toward retirement program. Teacher Housing Available: 2- and 3-bedroom units on or near campus. Professional Growth: Ongoing support, mentoring, and district-funded training opportunities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Crazy Horse School, a tribally controlled K–12 school on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, is seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. The successful candidate will provide individualized instruction and support to students with exceptional needs while promoting an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid South Dakota Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of IEP development and implementation.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, paras, and families.

  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally respectful teaching.
