This is a certified position as a school psychologist for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. The position is currently providing support to three school building in the district, and approximately 500 students. This school psychologist will assist with student evaluations and academic/behavioral interventions.
This position qualifies for a $5,000 hiring incentive.
State of Wyoming licensure as a Psychologist or Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board certification as School Psychologist
Goshen County School District No.1 is located in southeast Wyoming. The district serves approximately 1,650 students in grades K-12 at three main attendance areas throughout the county, covering 2232 square miles. Torrington schools are: Lincoln Elementary (K-2), Trail Elementary (3-5), Torrington Middle School (6-8), and Torrington High School (9-12). Platte River School is an alternative high school serving at-risk high school students and offering them an alternative and flexible means, and often second chance, to graduate. Our outlying schools are located in the towns of Lingle, Yoder and LaGrange. The Lingle Ft. Laramie Schools serve students in grades K-12 in the town of Lingle. Southeast Schools are located in Yoder, also serving students in grades K-12. LaGrange Elementary is located at the south end of Goshen County, and serves students in grades K-6 with older students attending Southeast Schools. The district prides itself on small class sizes, comprehensive curriculum, excellent and ever-expanding technology, and students and staff who know how to work. The district employs 393 staff m...embers. The Central Administration Office houses the superintendent, director of curriculum and instruction, federal program director, business manager, instructional facilitators, special education director, food service director, and technology director along with their associated staff members. There are 180 certified teachers, counselors and librarians employed across the district, with the support of 58 paraprofessionals, 38 bus drivers, 24 custodial staff, 12 cooks, 4 school nurses, 3 speech pathologists, and 3 school psychologists. The district is also fortunate to have highly skilled administrative assistants, business office staff, secretaries, clerks, mechanics, technology support, district maintenance and grounds staff, and transportation maintenance staff.
