Position Profile Under general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction or other administrator, an incumbent of this position oversees all facets of student support services, including programs, services, personnel and budget. The individual reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction or designee and supervises the CSE/CPSE Chairperson, special education teachers, student support services staff, paraprofessionals and other support staff. The Director of Student Support Services utilizes his/her leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to ensure effective delivery and continued improvement in the area of student support services and to promote the educational development of all students.

Minimum Candidate Requirements • Applicants must have New York State certification as a School Administrator/ Supervisor (SAS), School District Administrator (SDA), School District Leader (SDL) or School Building Leader (SBL). • In addition, applicants must have at least five years of successful teaching experience and three years of successful administrative experience; strong communication and organizational skills; and demonstrated knowledge of NYS learning standards, assessments and the ability to review and analyze data. Preferred Candidate Qualifications • Experience in Special Education, CPSE/ CSE, and/or other related services is preferred.
