ISB is seeking a positive, solution-focused and experienced teacher for students identified as Gifted and Talented in Middle and Senior School reporting to the Director of Learning Support. As an experienced teacher of gifted and talented students, you are able to identify the social/emotional and learning needs and meet these needs through advanced curriculum, challenging instruction, enrichment units, and opportunities for personal growth.
You encourage in gifted learners a sense of social awareness and commitment to humanity and to their environment, and a respect for the worth and dignity of others.
You excel in delivering creative, innovative, nontraditional teaching strategies that have proven successful with students identified as gifted. Your classroom environment is one in which students with gifted learning profiles can use their strengths, explore their personal and interpersonal development, risk new areas of thought and action, and feel challenged. You have a flexible teaching style and a thorough understanding of how best to stimulate students identified as gifted. You develop critical and creative thinking skills in learners and recognize and respond to individual differences.

Professional Qualifications and Qualities Sought
Master’s degree with current certification in Gifted Education;
Current teacher certification for Gifted and Talented Middle to Senior School students;
At least two years of experience teaching students identified as gifted in secondary school in an inclusive school setting;
Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) based on appropriate assessment and observational data, assess student progress, and report student progress in collaboration with classroom teachers;
An established contemporary knowledge of current gifted education pedagogy and the cognitive, social, and emotional characteristics of gifted students;
Successful experience integrating students with gifted profiles in general education classes;
A broad interdisciplinary knowledge of MYP curricula preferred;
Excellent interpersonal skills and fluency in English;
Capacity to embrace and teach students and work with families from a variety of cultural and educational backgrounds;
Ability to work positively and collaboratively as a contributing team member with colleagues, serving as a resource, providing materials, methods, and ideas;
Ability to use technology to support students with gifted profiles;
Maturity and commitment to exercise sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality;
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure effective and efficient management of the workload;
Participate in and/or sponsor outside activities and extracurricular activities;
Must be free of physical limitations that would exclude performance of any of the above tasks;Demonstrated reliability in current position including an excellent attendance record.
