PSEA, a labor organization representing over 180,000 professional educators and education support professionals, is seeking candidates for its lead staff specialist on special education and other special student populations. The position is based in the PSEA headquarters offices in Harrisburg, PA. Candidates must have deep knowledge of special education programs, policies and practices in the context of other public school programs. Additional knowledge of policies and programs related to other special student populations is preferred. The position requires the ability to design and deliver relevant professional development using a variety of modalities; the ability to analyze and resolve specific problems of practice; the ability to advocate for members; and the ability to analyze policy proposals, and advise on and advance association positions on relevant policy.
Successful candidates will have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a team member. A Master’s Degree in a relevant field is required, a terminal degree preferred. An excellent salary and comprehensive benefit package included.
